Ethnic media representation
These images I found regarding the new white psp are interesting in relation to ethnic media representation so I thought I would post them. For our exam I chose to use the text Jackie Brown directed by Quentin Tarantino along side Nanook of the North and In the Name of the Father. I found the exam to be ok, but I ran out of time missing alot of question 3 out.

For the iconic status and stardom module, I chose the PUNK MOVEMENT. The aim was to determine whether overall the punk movement was an 'icon'.
My essay is available at:

When redirected to this link you will be asked a password which is ABCD in capital letters. The file will then download after a series of instructions.

This module was a research module which proved difficult as alot of information was needed from books etc. I enjoyed this project as punk as a genre is music that i enjoy listening to and I found the people associated with punk enjoyable characters to research.

This term our modules consisted of ethnic media representation, journalism writing and media law, iconic status and stardom and media practice1.

For media practice1 we had to go to Coleg Glan Hafren. We were set a task of making a video and radio piece that would be used to introduce new students to UWIC in an imaginative way informing them of issues that may be helpful to them. Tiffany and I decided to do a video and radio piece on date rape and drinks being spiked.

Ethnic media representation consisted of lectures and screenings where we watched films such as In The Name Of The Father by Jim Sheridan and My Beautiful Laundrette by Stephen Frears, followed by an 100% exam.

Iconic status and stardom was a research project. I chose to research the punk movement, producing a project focusing on why the punk movement was an 'icon' with particular reference to The Sex Pistols and The Ramones etc.

Journalism writing and media law consisted of lectures teaching us the rules about law in regards with the media, with topics such as slander and copyright. Journalism writing taught us how to write in a journalistic style in different methods such as gig reviews and feature articles.
